This June will bring not only the end of the school year, but an end to a school.

Quesnel Junior School (QJS), previously known as Quesnel High School and Quesnel Secondary School, will be closing its doors once and for all.

Built in 1950, the school has undergone many changes over the years. Gone are the days of the “Projectionist Club” and saddle shoes, replaced by computer labs and board shoes.

Despite the changes, the halls are full of memories from students past.

On June 13 from 3-5 p.m., QJS will open its doors to the public, extending an open invitation to students past and present to wander the halls of the school one more time.

This informal gathering will showcase yearbooks from 1950 and on, a slide show and awards from years gone by. The public is welcome to drop by and reminisce with old school chums and staff.

This is a wonderful opportunity for Spartans past and present to celebrate the school together.
