On Oct. 21-22, the Baha’is of Quesnel joined millions around the world in holding local events to celebrate the bicentenary of Baha’ullah.

The founder of the Baha’i Faith, Baha’ullah, was born in Tehran, Persia in 1817.

Baha’ullah’s teachings promote world peace and unity through the education of spiritual virtues, the equality of race, gender and religion, and the harmony of science and religion.

The weekend events in Quesnel comprised of a dinner at one home for invited guests, an open house at another home and a children’s party at the third home. The film, Light of the World, which was produced especially for the Bicentennial celebrations worldwide was shown at the dinner and the open house.

Baha’is around the world work together with their local communities towards the advancement of humanity through core activities, such as spiritual devotionals, study groups and children and youth classes.
