Quesnel’s City Furniture and Appliances has donated the turkeys, hams and all the fixin’s for the local Salvation Army’s Christmas dinner on Dec. 18.
City Furniture owner Jack Pannu says the company buys food for the local charity every year for its annual dinner.
“We just get a list from Debbie and buy the food. We’ve been doing this for probably 15 years,” he says.
Pannu says they purchase the food from local grocery stores, rotating where they buy from each year; for example, last year they bought supplies from Aroma Foods, and this year from Safeway.
“They provide everything we need, from the meat to vegetables to the dessert, everything,” says Salvation Army pastor Debbie Gatza.
“It’s been a real blessing and a good support.”
Pannu says his City Furniture branch in Williams Lake, which opened four years ago, also provides the food for the local Salvation Army’s Christmas dinner.
“We want to thank the Salvation Army for all their volunteers’ work, and also Safeway, for their great service,” said Pannu.
