Donating to the  CONTACT _Con-3B7AEFFF2 Quesnel Community Foundation will have double the impact thanks to generous anonymous donors who promise up to $30,000 if it is matched by December 24.

The Foundation is issuing a challenge to the community – to receive 30 donations of $1,000 or more.  Donors who give $1,000 or more will be the Foundation’s guests at the Awards Gala on March 24, 2012.

Any cash donations to the general endowment or Community Investment Fund will be matched dollar for dollar.

“I’m pleased to report the first donation of $1,000 has been received,” Dan Canuel, Fund Development Chair said.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for donors to see their gifts doubled.  We have some generous and thoughtful donors who want to encourage others to give, so they have made a commitment to us again this year to match donations if we, as a community, donate the same amount.”

Alex Coffey, Foundation President, adds, “the directors are delighted these donors have the confidence to commit another $30,000 to the Foundation.

“Last year, they committed $20,000 if we could match it and we did even better – as a community, we raised $24,000.  I’m hopeful and confident that the community will continue to support the Foundation and donate at least $30,000 during the matching period.”

The Quesnel Community Foundation has given out more than $175,000 in grants and scholarships since 2001.

The registered charity supports projects that offer a service to the community or approach a local challenge or concern in an innovative fashion.
