Quesnel Fall Fair volunteer awarded lifetime membership

Elizabeth Ross was recently recognized

A volunteer with the Quesnel Fall Fair has been recognized for her efforts.

Elizabeth Ross was presented with flowers, a volunteer year of the year award and lifetime membership at the Alex Fraser Park Agriculture Centre on Saturday, Sept. 10, by president Christine Miller and treasurer Thomas Christen.

“I’m very surprised,” Ross said. “It was unexpected.”

Ross has been involved with the Quesnel Fall Fair for four years.

One of her roles includes looking after the Quesnel Fall Fair website, that was drawn positive user feedback.

“We’ve got compliments that we have one of the best websites from the BC Fairs Association by their executive director,” Christen said.

Ross moved to Quesnel approximately nine years ago from southwestern Ontario.

She was delighted to see the in-person fall fair return Sept 9-11 for the first time since 2019.

”It’s really great to see faces again and see kids bringing in their entries and still being involved in learning agriculture which is wonderful,” Ross said, noting she believes it is important to recognize farmers who feed cities and their contributions to society.
