Quesnel food festival seeks vendors

-

Staff at Motherlode Wash and QuickLube were considering how they could include community events on their considerable property.

“We wanted to draw the community to our location even if their vehicle wasn’t dirty,” manager

Rebekah Weaver said.

“We take pride in how well-kept the grounds are and wanted to provide the venue for a community event.”

Considering food is of interest to everyone, Weaver is putting the word out to anyone who’d like to participate in a food festival.

“Do you grow vegetables? Do you have a restaurant? Do you make smoothies? Do you have the best chocolate cake or fried chicken recipe ever? Do you make preserves? Do you have a hot dog cart? Do you smoke salmon? Do you embroider tea towels with tomatoes? Or how about a supply of frozen ice cream bars?”

Weaver is excited to see who steps forward for the July 30 event.

“I’m looking forward to hearing what the community has to offer,” she said.

“And it would be nice to turn it into an annual event.”

The space is free, participants need to supply their own table, chairs, canopy – in other words

they must be self-sufficient.

Donations will also be collected on a voluntary basis for the Witzke family.
