The Hallis Lake Ski Centre will play host to a series of award-winning films as it once again hosts the Vancouver International Mountain Film Festival (VIMFF) on Thursday, March 31 and Friday, April 1.

“The VIMFF connects our global outdoor community with international filmmakers, creators and speakers, so that we can inspire, entertain and bring mountain adventure into the homes of our viewers,” their website reads.

Two dozen films will be shown over both nights, with some shown exclusively on each day. The films explore topics like climate change, loss and change, with each one featuring the great outdoors from around the world.

There should be some familiarity for Interior B.C. residents for one of the films, in A Chilcotin love letter.

The short film celebrates the trails of the South Chilcotin Mountains which draw mountain bikers to the area year after year.

“The club hosted this event in 2019 to a sell-out crowd. Since then the club has upgraded the entertainment system with a 135” screen, 4K HD projector, new wireless speakers, padded chairs, and sound baffles on the ceiling to reduce the noise,” the Cariboo Ski Touring Club’s website reads.

Tickets are available online at the club’s website www.caribooski.ca, or at Reason 2 Run.
