Jennifer Clement/Paul recently donated Tim Hortons gift cards to Seasons House in downtown Quesnel, and she is hoping this act will inspire others to do something similar.

Clement/Paul brought $100 in $5 Tim Hortons cards to the shelter Dec. 7 and hopes this will help raise awareness around supporting people who are homeless and who are addicted to drugs.

“These are real people who have feelings and would cherish the gift of Christmas,” she said. “I have a loved one who is in this situation, and it is not because he is not loved.”

With COVID-19 making things more challenging, Clement/Paul felt gift cards were a good idea because they can be sanitized before they are given away.

Clement/Paul told her daughter about the donation, and she was amazed to hear her daughter is going to donate the same amount of gift cards to Seasons House.

”I just want to put out a message to other persons or businesses who can to please match or donate similar gifts to people who need to know someone loves and cares about them,” she said. “Thank you.”

Seasons House, run by the Quesnel Shelter and Support Society, provides shelter, nourishment and service to people experiencing homelessness in Quesnel and served more than 400 clients in 2019.
