It’s been a challenging two years for Quesnel’s Ambassador Leadership Program, but there was still reason to celebrate during their awards night Saturday, July 3.

Three ambassadors from the seven candidates were named at the event, which was attended by invitation only.

Naylene Runge, Jaeana Dumais and Jessie Johal will be representing Quesnel in 2021. Outgoing candidates Sarah Footit, Beth Mattioli and Jadacia Barker were on hand to celebrate as well.

A facebook livestream was produced for people unable to attend the limited capacity event.

Quesnel’s ambassador candidates usually fill their time with volunteering and attending events throughout and around the city, but have been unable to do so because of COVID-19.

Instead, the focus turned to online meetings, with candidates improving their public speaking and speech-writing skills more in the digital space than in person.
