Big Brothers Big Sisters
of Quesnel is busy
planning their annual
Bowl for Kids Sake on
Friday, April 28.
The theme for this year
is “Christmas in April –
Give the Gift of Friendship.”
Bowling starts at 4:30
p.m. and teams are already
registering!
You can register and
collect pledges online
at bigbrothersbigsistersofquesnel.
ca.
If you would like to
participate, call Joanie
at 250-992-7257 to book
your team for the hour
and a half session.
Co-workers, families
and friends can form five
member teams, collect
pledges and come out
and bowl at Rev Bowling
Lanes.
For every $100 collected
in pledges per person
(19 years and older),
your name goes into the
incentive draw.
If you are unable to
play, you can still pledge
or send a tax deductible
donation.
Our agency served
more than 165 children
and youth in our community
last year, at no
cost to the families.
There are many children
who would like to
have a mentor.
The funds raised from
this event help us sustain
our mentoring programs
in the community and
schools.
Wednesday was Pink
Shirt Day, Feb. 22 and
we encourage everyone
to wear to work together
to prevent bullying in
our schools, in our communities
and online.
Pink Shirt Day comes
from two Nova Scotia
high school students,
who decided to take a
stand against bullying in
their own school.
A BIG thank you for
the $5,000 donation
from N.I.S. and $3,000
from the staff and employees
of Cariboo Pulp
and Paper– this will
allow us to serve more
children in our community
with quality mentoring
programs.
We have a new bin in
Quesnel.
The BIG bin was
placed at Rocky’s recently.
We take the following
donations clothes, linens,
towels, coats, shoes,
purses, bets etc.
We currently have
three bins in town, and
one in the Bouchie Lake
area. All monies raised
from this fundraising
project come back to
out agency.
All donations are
taken to Valu Village in
Kamloops.
Thank you for you
continued support with
this fundraising project.
