QJS House 3 Grade 8 students participated in a Season’s House rally on Feb. 5.

Students enjoyed music, ate delicious chili and invited members of the community to join them in Spirit Square.

“I have worked with Marisa Brackett (QJS Teacher) in my previous role as co-ordinator for the Quesnel Women’s Resource Centre and in my current role as executive director Season’s House and have appreciated and welcomed her initiative to get youth involved and educated about social issues affecting so many people in our community,” Seasons House exective director Melanie MacDonald said.

“I was thrilled to have Marisa and her students join us recently for our “Raising the Roof Toque Campaign’s Chili Lunch in Spirit Square to raise awareness about homelessness and raise funds for the services we provide for at Season’s House through the sale of toques.”

Paige Kastrukoff, Mariah Kampman, Teya Hartely, Courtney Moore and Cassie Greenwood raised $90 for Season’s House by selling toques to passers-by.
