Molly’s Comedy Cabaret is taking over the Sunset Theatre in Wells on Wednesday, Nov. 16 at 7:30 p.m.

Headliner Molly Wilson is an accomplished performer who has worked in Canada, England and the United States. The 90-minute cabaret is a musical variety show featuring the powerhouse vocals of actress and singer Molly Wilson.

With a splash of comedy, a shot of zaniness, and a large pour of your favourite songs from Broadway, pop, rock, and Motown, the show mixes up a cocktail of deliciously funny entertainment and promises an evening of fun and laughter.

“It’s a bit zany but I try to make sure every show has a lot of heart,” said Wilson, who writes the scripts for all her performances.

Performing with Wilson are “Hot Fingers Wilson” and “Bob the Stage Manager,” also known as Molly’s mom and dad. “My parents have many years honing their skills in theatre and improv and it’s been really wonderful working together,” Wilson said.”I like to think it makes the show even more special for our audiences.”

Wilson grew up in Chilliwack and studied musical theatre at Grant MacEwan University in Edmonton. In addition to her cabaret performances, she is also an experienced stage and film actor and has appeared in many musical theatre productions and Fringe shows.

Wilson is also working on a songwriting career and released her debut single, Burn the Clothes. “Songwriting was something I didn’t really imagine myself doing, but I am loving the creative opportunity to express my own thoughts through music,” said Wilson. “I am really excited to launch an EP in the near future.”

Molly’s Comedy Cabaret runs for approximately 90 minutes with a 15-minute intermission. Tickets are available through the Sunset Theatre’s website at www.sunset-theatre.com or by calling 250-994-3400.
