Ventriloquist and puppet friends wow young crowd at local event

Kellie Haines had children and adults out of their seats at Chuck Mobley Theatre

Ventriloquist Kellie Haines drew quite a crowd to her show at Chuck Mobley Theatre on Saturday (Nov. 24).

Children were invited to sit up at the front as Haines and her puppets Magrau and Kamilla the Frog entertained the audience with jokes, songs and even dancing.

Haines even enticed some adults up on the floor to meet her puppet friends. The ventriloquist has been honing her skills since she was eight years old.

A local girl in the audience was also invited up in front of the crowd with a puppet she had brought along, as Haines encouraged the budding ventriloquist to keep practising her craft.

Audience members enjoyed pizza before and after the show, which was put on by Quesnel and District Community Arts Council.
