Editor:

Our social woes certainly have a way of bubbling to the surface during a provincial election. If I am to believe in the political rhetoric, B.C. is an unmitigated disaster.

Rather than get caught up in the drama and hyperbole, I pack my camera, secure my canoe to the roof racks, and head into nature. Paddling through a bird-filled marsh, hiking through the old-growth of a mule deer's winter range, or photographing bighorn sheep on the grasslands overlooking the Fraser River help me focus on what I want from my MLA.

Back in Williams Lake, I am looking for a party that will respect our parks, protected areas, winter ranges and other natural spaces essential to the well-being not only of plants and wildlife, but also of people like me. Lorne, Michael, Coralee, Sheldon, Randy and Denise, could you please tell me how your party will conserve our natural spaces?
