Editor,

Having had the opportunity to take part in the 2019 men’s provincial curling championships that were held in Quesnel last week, we would like to express our sincere thanks and praise to everyone that was involved.

From the initial thought of this world-class event coming to Quesnel to the perfect execution of it, the event was the best that it could have been. When we got compliments that the venue, the crowd, the volunteers and the friendly people in our community treated these visiting teams better than they get treated at most of the Brier, Scotties and World Championship events, it really shouts something out about our community.

The number of volunteers that stepped up, trained and took time out of their busy lives for several months to pull this off was overwhelming, is appreciated and will be remembered by all of the people involved for a lifetime.

The support we received when we played our games and the cheers from the amazing crowd was a feeling that we will probably never be able to experience again. Being able to represent Quesnel and northern B.C. was an honour, especially when we had the hometown support that we received and shared with the other teams.

So, from all of Team Waffle, we thank everyone for making this event a perfect memory that will last us all a lifetime.
