Chinese exchange students explore Cariboo fun with Correlieu students.

Correlieu students hosted Chinese students from Shanghai in outdoor sports and indoor activities.

Quesnel Correlieu senior secondary school hosted 34 students and teachers from Shanghai, China as part of the ninth year of a cultural exchange program which will see 32 Correlieu students, teachers and chaperones travel to Shanghai during Spring Break.

The Chinese delegation arrived Jan. 25 and the group from Shanghai Nanhui Xiehang high school participated in downhill skiing at Troll; music and drama presentations at Correlieu; an indoor soccer tournament at the indoor facility; swimming and a pizza party at the arts and recreation centre; a movie at the Carib Theatre; winter camping at Gavin Lake where they experienced snowshoeing, cross country skiing and sledding; the Winter Carnival at West Fraser Timber Park; and a potluck, welcome dinner at Correlieu.

The exchange program is sponsored and organized by SD28 International School Program. Students and teachers stayed with home stay families.

The Correlieu delegation to Shanghai is being organized by Ron and Gill England, Jerry Nugent and Rob McGregor.
