A news release from Quesnel RCMP says the collision was between a logging truck and a pickup truck.

The pickup truck driver was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, RCMP said. They added that the driver of the logging truck was not injured.

RCMP responded to the call at around 7:34 a.m.

"The road was closed for a short time while emergency crews extracted the driver from the vehicle, but it is now re-opened," said Sgt. Clay Kronebusch.

Update:

The stretch of highway between Fanslau Road and Schemenaur Road is now operating under single lane alternating traffic.

DriveBC says to expect minor delays.
