Update:
The RCMP put out a news release saying the lockdown and secure-and-hold at two Quesnel schools has been lifted.
RCMP responded to the Quesnel Junior School at around 8:15 a.m. due to a student reporting having seen a man who may have had a firearm near the school grounds. Quesnel Junior School was placed on hold-and-secure while Lakeview Elementary was placed on a lockdown.
The release said Mounties attended the area and conducted a search of the area and nobody in the area was located.
"These types of complaints at a school are always concerning for everyone involved," said Sgt. Clay Kronebusch in the release. "Thanks to the quick response from the schools' staff for their diligence in locking down the school to ensure the safety of the students while police responded."

Two schools in Quesnel are in hold-and-secure in consultation with RCMP Friday (Sept. 13) morning, the SD28 Facebook page says.
The schools are Quesnel Junior School and Lakeview Elementary School.
"In consultation with RCMP and out of an abundance of caution, two of our schools are in a Hold and Secure," the post notes. "All staff and students are safe and RCMP are investigating."
The post does not give a reason for the hold-and-secure.
