UPDATE: No one injured in fire on Abbot Drive this morning

The Quesnel Volunteer Fire Department responded to a house fire on Abbott Drive shortly after 6 a.m. this morning (Tuesday, May 28).

A house on the west side of the street across from the Aspen Heights apartment complex was ablaze with smoke billowing high into the air.

Quesnel Fire Chief, Sylvain Gauthier, says everybody was out of the structure by the time they first responders arrived.

Three fire engines and 19 fire fighters fought the blaze until it was extinguished at 9:00 a.m.

The area is cordoned off for an investigation to determine the cause of the fire.
