The Snotty Nose Rez Kids performed at the West Fraser Centre Saturday June 7 in a major concert for the city.
Over the past several months sponsors throughout the community kicked in to help make the concert a success, the North Cariboo Joint Advisory Committee (NCJAC) approved funding for the concert in March. At that time 1,000 tickets needed to be sold for the concert to break even, but that was before all of the sponsorships were secured.
Shanell Twan has roots in Quesnel and came back to the city from Edmonton to take her son to the concert as a graduation gift.
"They really are inspirational for the youth, to see folks who look and sound and think and talk and walk like you doing awesome things in the community," she said of why the rap duo is important.
