Open letter to mayor Ron Paull and Quesnel city council.
I wanted to send you a note on behalf of the whole team at Rally The Globe to thank you for the extraordinary hospitality we enjoyed visiting Quesnel back in September. Our rally included 100 competitors and 20 support staff of 14 different nationalities, from across the globe. Each and every one of those people went home with a wonderful story to tell about Quesnel, and the welcoming people there. The generosity and attention to detail shown by the city and mayor Paull while hosting us in your beautiful town was incredible, and we so enjoyed our visit there.
Thank you to your incredible Mounties, the photographer, and all the wonderful Rotary volunteers. You made us all feel so very welcome throughout our visit. It was a highlight for the competitors, (they RAVED about it!) as well as for the team who were present. The Quesnel lapel pins were a delightful touch. You made us feel like family from the first introductory phone call right up until the last hugs were exchanged. The genuine warmth of the welcome you offered was palpable to everyone; the competitors and the Rally The Globe team were just blown away. I think the experience really helped them to understand Canada and Canadians so much better than any long-winded explanation a guidebook could offer. Thank you, and huge thanks to your entire team who made the visit seamless.
Quesnel was just a very short stop on this rally, but we were so very impressed with the hospitality, local attractions and infrastructure. We would hope that the next time we have an event passing through, we could arrange to have Quesnel be an overnight halt for the rally or, depending on the schedule, a location for two nights and a rest day.
On behalf of the entire team at Rally The Globe, thank you so much for the incredible hospitality and warm welcome we received. We all look forward to seeing you again soon, hopefully, for a much longer stay.
Sarah Ormerod,
Rally The Globe Al-Mex
Medical & Route Coordinator
