There was lots of colour and good cheer downtown on Saturday, June 15, as the Quesnel Pride and Community Outreach Society hosted the fifth annual LGBTQ2S+ Pride Parade through downtown streets and entertainment at LeBourdais Park, as well as a youth gathering at the Youth Centre. There was also a dessert auction, silent auction and performances by Vile Pole Arts that evening, and between the BCGEU, Gavin Lane’s Memorial Fund, Long Table Grocery, WorkBC, and individuals donating at the Pride events, the society raised $2,165 for student bursaries and to further evolve itself.
