No one was injured Sunday morning when shots were fired inside a residence in the Baker Creek area.
Quesnel RCMP responded to a complaint of shots fired Sunday, March 3 at 10:52 a.m.
Several family members were reported to be inside the residence at the time of the shots being fired, according to a news release from the Quesnel RCMP.
“It is alleged the 52-year-old suspect, who was believed to be under the influence of alcohol, became upset inside his residence and began shooting within the residence,” states the release.
Police officers set up containment around the home and were able to successfully negotiate with the man to resolve the situation without any further harm to the man or to the others inside the residence.
“Fortunately no one was injured in this instance,” Quesnel Detachment Commander Staff Sgt. Andrew Burton said in the news release, commending the actions of those inside the house at the time of the incident and of the responding officers.
Quesnel RCMP continue to work with the BC Prosecution Service to determine charges.
Police say they will not be releasing any names.
