BC Transit is making changes to the way riders pay for their bus trips in Quesnel.

After BC Transit released Umo cards and the Umo app to pay for bus rides, BC Transit is stopping the sale of scratch-off day passes, 10 ticket, adult monthly pass and student/senior monthly pass fare products. Those changes will be effective Dec. 1, 2024.

The new fares through Umo are as follows without changes to the pricing:

  • Cash Balance – Adult Single Ride $1.75
  • Cash Balance – Concession Single Ride $1.50
  • Cash Balance - Route 30 Wells Single Ride $5.00
  • 10 Rides – Adult $15.75
  • 10 Rides – Concession $13.50
  • DayPASS – Adult $3.50
  • DayPASS – Concession $3.00
  • 30-Day Pass – Adult $35.00
  • 30-Day Pass – Concession $25.00

Cash and the Province of British Columbia’s BC Bus Pass will continue to be accepted. U-Pass fare products will continue to be offered in collaboration with the University of Northern British Columbia and New Caledonia via Umo payment methods. Legacy fare products will be accepted until used up. A new Umo compatible Token will be available to support the needs of social wellness organizations that offer free or discounted fare products. handyDART fare products will continue to be sold unchanged.

Fare products can be loaded onto the Umo app or to a re-loadable card online at ca.umopass.com. People who haven't started using Umo are encouraged to visit bctransit.com/umo to get more information on how it works.

BC Transit will work to introduce credit and debit payments on busses in the future.
