Hunter gathers Quesnel hockey thrills

“Little Roo” gets to skate and shoot with CIHL big players at Quesnel game

A “Little Roo” named Hunter works out with his hockey heroes during the warmup of a recent CIHL game at West Fraser Centre. The Quesnel Kangaroos often select budding hockey players to join them on ice prior to home games. Hunter’s chance came on Jan. 27 when the hometown Roos took on the visiting Hazelton Wolverines.

The Kangaroos close out the regular season this afternoon at 1 p.m. when they take on the visiting Nechako North Stars from Vanderhoof / Fort St. James.

“Be sure to bring the family out as it’s family day: kids under 10 get in for free with a paying adult,” said a statement issued by Kangaroos management. “Also wear your Roos swag and get entered for shoot the score. If you hit the target you will be $1,000 richer. Thank you Cariboo Ford, Quesnel. Let’s fill the rink and the support the Roos.”

The Central Interior Hockey League’s playoff schedule will be announced soon.
