Quesnel's Morgan Reed was one of 160 U16 players in B.C. to go to Salmon Arm for the Program of Excellence, his team went 3-0 in their pool. On April 20 they played in the finals and were down 4-1 but tied things up at the end of the third period.

With just a minute left in overtime, Reed got the winning goal to bring his team a massive comeback win.

"There was a face off in their end, we won it, I took it back out to the neutral zone, made a pass down to my teammate, took it behind our net and I curled on the left side of the rink," Reed explained of how the goal played out. "There was a defender and I put the puck around him, went to the middle, went past three guys and then scored."

Reed has been playing hockey for at least a decade. His strengths in hockey are his ability to scan the ice and see plays, his ability to make a good first pass and his shot.

The next step in the Program of Excellence is for the top 70 players to go to Chilliwack, from those players Team BC for the WHL Cup will be put together.
