The Quesnel River Rush played two away games over the weekend.

The Quesnel River Rush lost a game and won a game while they were on the road during the weekend.

On Oct. 4 the Rush faced off against the Kamloops Storm and took a hard 1-5 defeat. The Storm took an early 2-0 lead in the first period with the Rush's Max Kinee scoring their sole goal early into the second. The Storm got back-to-back goals with less than five minutes left in the second period, bolstering their lead to 4-1. Despite a hard-fought game the Rush let one more goal get by them late into the final period of the game.

But they bounced back the next day during their Oct. 5 game against the Chase Heat.

The Rush took an early lead with Toren Fron scoring the game's first goal. The Heat responded with three more goals in the first period, taking a lead going into the second.

But the Rush fought back hard, Jayden Mackie scored the team's first goal of the second period and Isaiah Bagri landed two goals in that period with one Heat goal inbetween them. Going into the third period it was 4-4 and the Rush were ready to fight for the win.

Fron and Bagri each scored another goal in the first 10 minutes of the period. But the team's 6-4 lead was tied back up with the Heat getting two more goals in the second half of the third period.

The teams went into overtime with a 6-6 tie. It was very short lived though as the Rush's Tate O'Brien landed a goal in less than a minute, giving the Rush the win.

The team's next home games are Oct. 11 and Oct. 12 at the West Fraser Centre. Puck drops at 7 p.m.
