The 37th annual Terry Fox Run saw runners, walkers, cyclists and even canine participants gather in LeBourdais Park Sunday morning.

The event raised a total of $18,688 for Cancer Research. Of that total, $14,295.34 was raised by the Family Fun Group, made up of Gary McLean, Janice McLean, Rosemary McKay, Judith McKenzie, Bill Spaetgens, Shane Rawling, Joyce Standbridge, MaryAnn Kopetski, David Kopetski and Elaine Kopetski, through donations, bottle drives and other fundraising initiatives.

After an invigorating warm up hosted by one of the Rec Centre’s fitness instructors, with the help of local children taking part in the event, 125 people crossed the start line, which was up on last year’s number of 78 participants.

The route took participants around the River Walk and back to LeBourdais Park, where they were met with refreshments from Safeway, Cariboo Water and Aroma Foods.
