A few more nominees have entered the race for the Cariboo Regional District election with the official slate shared Friday, Sept. 14.
Cory Delves is running for Area A, Conrad Turcotte is running for Area F and Chad Mernett is running for Area K.
That means there will be elections for seven director seats and five acclaimed.
As of Thursday, Sept. 13 it appeared seven of the 12 Cariboo Regional District director seats could be filled by acclamation in the Oct. 20 election, unless there are candidates holding their cards to their chests until Friday, when all nomination papers must be filed.
According to the B.C. Election website the candidates are as follows:
Area A Red Bluff, Quesnel South: Mary Sjostrom.
Area B Quesnel West/Bouchie Lake: Elizebeth Montgomery, Barb Bachmeier and Robert Shkuratoff.
Area C Barlow/Barkerville: incumbent John Massier.
Area D Commodore Heights, Fox Mountain, McLeese Lake, Pine Valley, Wildwood: incumbent Steve Forseth.
Area E South Lakeside/Dog Creek: incumbent Angie Delainey and Melynda Neufeld.
Area F 150 Mile/Horsefly/Likely: Brice O’Neill and Shannon Rerie.
Area G Lac La Hache/108 Mile: incumbent Al Richmond.
Area H Canim Lake/Forest Grove: incumbent Margo Wagner.
Area I West Fraser/Nazko: Jim J. Glassford.
Area J West Chilcotin: Gerald Kirby, Doug L. Wickenheiser and incumbent Roger William.
Area K East Chilcotin: incumbent Betty Anderson.
Area L Lone Butte/Interlakes: incumbent Brian R. Coakley and Willow MacDonald.
Mayors of Williams Lake, 100 Mile House, Wells and Quesnel also have a seat at the CRD table and whoever wins those positions will join the board again.
All nomination packages must be filed by 4 p.m. Friday, Sept. 14.
