While COVID-19 caused a cascade of cancellations in 2020, it doesn’t appear to be slowing down in 2021.

The Billy Barker Days Festival is cancelled for 2021.

The Billy Barker Days Society made the announcement on Facebook.

“At this time, there are no plans for any alternative events,” a post from the society reads. “If the situation changes enough in the summer or fall, we will consider doing something on a smaller scale and within any restrictions at the time. Please understand that this is not an easy decision for all involved. We are looking forward to getting back to a ‘Normal’ year in 2022.”

The 2020 Billy Barker Days event was cancelled in early April of 2021.

Other summer events, such as a High School Rodeo event at Alex Fraser Park, are still planned to take place this year.
