ORIGINAL:

Bouchie Lake Volunteer Fire Department has responded to a fuel spill at Rocky’s General Store on Blackwater Road.

Approximately 1,200 litres of fuel were spilled when an Esso truck was filling the store’s pumps.

There are currently five firefighters on scene, making sure the area is safe, while they wait for a team from Esso to arrive with clean-up supplies. All fuel pumps have been shut down.

It could take up to three hours for the clean-up team to arrive from Prince George, but firefighter Michel Robert says, “the snow is in their favour, as it keeps the fumes down.”
