Woody debris will be cleared and burned along the western fence line adjacent to Pinnacles Provincial Park west of Quesnel this month.
The BC Wildfire Service will be assisting the Ministry of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations and Rural Development’s Range Branch with the project that will help reduce wildfire risk in the area.
Burning will begin as early as Wednesday, June 9 and continue until Tuesday, June 22.

According to a news release, the decision on when to burn will depend on weather, site and venting conditions.
Smoke from the piles may be visible from Quesnel and the surrounding areas, said BC Wildfire Service.
Category 3 open fires remain prohibited throughout the 100 Mile Forest District and the west side of the high-water mark of the Fraser River within the Cariboo Chilcotin Forest District and the Tsilhqot’in (Xeni Gwet’in) Declared Title Area.
