Quesnel is planning a celebration of city projects completed during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Let’s Connect Community Tour is set for Sept. 18 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m., beginning at Spirit Square with live music and vendors.

“I am looking forward to showcasing our citywide projects and initiatives to the community,” Mayor Bob Simpson said in a news release. “This is a great way for our residents to explore all of the beneficial projects that have been completed over the past two years and all of the upcoming projects that we have planned.”

The tour will have stops across Quesnel, with each location hosting different events. Stops include the Quesnel Museum and Visitor’s Centre, Sprout Kitchen, Alex Fraser Park’s Agricultural Event Centre, the Fuel Management Trail, the Wonderland Trail Network and the Forestry Innovation Centre.

A community quiz will test residents’ knowledge of Quesnel, with prizes available. The city will also be launching a new web page, Let’s Connect, on Sept. 18. The online tool will give residents updates to new city initiatives and offer a chance to provide feedback on city planning and project implementation.
