COVID-19 case detected at Correlieu Secondary School in Quesnel

This case marks the seventh time COVID-19 has been detected in the Quesnel School District

The Quesnel School District has another COVID-19 exposure. The third active exposure event is the first for Correlieu Secondary.

The exposure occurred on Tuesday, May 4, according to a letter shared on the school’s Facebook page.

“If you do not receive a call from public health, your risk of exposure is considered to be very low and we do not recommend that you isolate at this time,” the letter reads.

The Correlieu exposure is the seventh exposure event in Quesnel School District facilities, but the first at Correlieu.

Northern Health recommends students should monitor for symptoms for 14 days after the exposure, which would be May 19.

Key symptoms of COVID-19 include cough, fever/chills, loss of taste/smell, Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and shortness of breath.

As of May 14, Northern Health was tracking 57 COVID-19 exposures in schools, with the most recent Quesnel exposure not listed yet.
