When Jorleen Russell started working for the District of Wells in March, there was one big thing on her to-do list - freshen up the districts website.

Five months later, wells.ca finally has a new look.

“It’s very user friendly,” Russell said. “You’re able to search a bit better, it’s laid out, it’s bright, it’s very much eye catching, like Wells is.”

Russell is the economic development officer for the District, and said they partnered with ABC Weblinks to design the site.

The site features drop-down menus and a gallery of photos.

“The pictures I chose show you what Wells is all about,” Russell said. “The layout of it, and being in the mountains.”

Russell said before the site went live, she used a focus group of people to be sure the design was sound.

“I utilized a new person to the Wells area, and he said ‘this is great, this would have been nice to have this information before I moved here,’” she said. “The new site gave a lot more information.”

Russell added the website is an ongoing project.

“All websites are continuously progressing and growing, and that’s where we’re at right now,” she said. “We’ve got what we need up right now, but we’re always updating and changing and things like that.”

The new website can be found at wells.ca.

“There’s always something happening in Wells,” Russell said.
