A man was arrested by the Quesnel RCMP after crashing at the intersection of Highway 97 and Highway 26 (Barkerville Highway).
Emergency crews were called to the scene of a Jeep Cherokee lying on its side at 2:34 p.m Thursday, Aug. 25.
Quesnel RCMP media relations officer Sgt. Clay Kronebusch said it appears the vehicle attempted to turn from Highway 97 onto Highway 26, struck the meridian and another vehicle, and overturned.
The 39-year-old driver had minor injuries and was arrested pending an impaired driving investigation.
“Drugs or alcohol are believed to be a factor in the motor vehicle incident,” Kronebush said. “There were no other occupants in the vehicle, and no other people were injured.”
