Update 11 a.m. Oct. 19:
A Quesnel man is dead after his vehicle rolled down an embankment, RCMP said in a news release Oct. 19.
Police responded to the single vehicle rollover approximately five kilometers west on Quesnel-Hixon Road at 2:45 p.m. Monday, Oct. 18.
The man is believed to have missed a corner and entered the ditch, travelling approximately 100 meters down an embankment, striking a tree and rolling over.
He was the lone occupant of the vehicle and declared deceased at the scene.
“Weather and road conditions were not a factor in the collision and the police are continuing their investigation,” RCMP stated.
“The name of the driver is not being released.”
Original story 3 p.m. Oct 18:
Police, ambulance, fire crews and Cariboo Highway Rescue are all on the scene of a crash on Quesnel-Hixon Road.
Quesnel RCMP have blocked off a lane of the road near Salton Road, around five km north of Quesnel.
One vehicle is involved in the crash.
