UPDATE:

A structure which caught fire on a hill overlooking PRT Quesnel Nursery appears under control.

Quesnel firefighters were called to the scene off Lear Road just before 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 21. At one point, what appeared to be a house trailer was completely engulfed, shooting flames 20 feet into the air.

The property has stairs which go down to the PRT yard. Workers at the nursery evacuated as firefighters worked to contain the blaze.

Fire crews were at times lost behind a wall of black smoke. They were forced to park their trucks on a steep driveway to fight the fire.

The cause of the fire and if there were any injuries in the blaze is unknown.
