J.D. and Robin McGilloway and their two young sons lost everything in a house fire.

Fundraiser set to help replace family possessions

When J.D. McGilloway’s family home burned to the ground Jan. 23, he and his wife and two small sons lost everything.

They’re now on the road to re-establishing a family home but they need the community to give them a helping hand.

A fundraiser is slated for Feb. 4 at the Salvation Army’s Warrior Song Cafe from 6 – 9 p.m. with music, live auction every 15 minutes and a dessert silent auction.

With the assistance of the Salvation Army, volunteers are collecting auction items for the fundraiser and accepting donations for the family.

The McGilloway’s have two sons aged four months and 22 months, so clothing appropriate to those ages and diapers sized 5 – 6 would be appreciated.

J.D. is in need of clothing sized 32 waist and 34 leg length and medium-sized shirts.

Mom Robin needs pants sized 5 and women’s medium sized tops.

Donations of furniture and housewares are also being accepted through the Salvation Army.

Those wishing to make a donation, a joint account in J.D. McGilloway and his mother Brenda McGilloway’s name has been set up at the Bank of Montreal.

Those wishing to make a contribution can go to the Quesnel branch and ask
