Tony Goulet was recently re-elected as chair of the Quesnel Board of Education, which held its annual election on Wednesday, Nov. 16.
According to a news release, Goulet was first elected to the Board of Education in 2004 and has held a number of positions over the years.
“I think it shows that peers have faith in me, so I feel confident,” Goulet said, noting many trustees are new to the board.
“We’ve got some great things happening —the aboriginal curriculum coming, our new logo design, and our strategic plan that looks fantastic. So we’re going in a great direction, and I’m proud to be part of that.”
Lisa Boudreau was elected as vice chair.
She has been connected to the Quesnel School District for many years and was elected to the Board of Education in October 2022.
“I’m super excited. I’ve been really involved with our district for at least eight years, and it just feels like the next step for me,” Boudreau said. “I’m in it for the kids.”
Trustees were sworn in earlier this month.
