Work is about to begin on the first stages of redevelopment at Lhtako Dene Park.
“We are breaking ground on the installation of the new territory sign at Lhtako Dene Park,” said Lindsay Blair, the senior community development coordinator for the City of Quesnel.
Before the work could begin, the ground had to be spiritually prepared by Lhtako Dene elders.
“There will be a small smudging ceremony to bless the ground before work begins,” Blair explained.
Sculptures and signs will soon be put in place for public enjoyment and information about the cultural significance of this spot.
