Island Mountain Arts will be hosting our Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Tuesday, April 25 at 6 p.m.
This meeting will be hosted via Zoom and will feature a special resolution to update our organization’s bylaws in accordance with the timeline as set out in The Societies Amendment Act, 2021.
Our mission: Island Mountain Arts (IMA) serves artists, builds community, and stimulates and enhances artistic, cultural and economic development. We foster connection and expression through workshops, residencies, seminars, exhibitions and performance.
Our vision: An art-full life is possible.
With ongoing infrastructure projects, growth of year-round and place-based programming, ongoing youth programming, and the ArtsWells festival returning, we are looking to fill three to five board vacancies this AGM.
We welcome applications from folks who identify with our organization’s vision and mission, and are willing to work with us to shape IMA’s future.
Skills we are looking for:
– experience with, or an interest in, non-profit finance
– a teacher, parent or primary caregiver of a young person, able to offer a perspective on programming and youth policy. (We would also interested in having a youth representative on the board or our committees)
– a background in human resources
– a background in facilities maintenance and management
Directors must be members of IMA so please activate your membership and join us at the table.
Board terms are two years in length, with active committees and monthly meetings that equate to a commitment of about 10 hours per month.
Board members are expected to attend at least 75 per cent of board meetings.
If you are interested in becoming involved with IMA in this capacity, feel free to get in touch with executive / artistic director Elyssia Sasaki (email: firstname.lastname@example.org) for more information.
We would be delighted to add your name and a bit of information about you to our AGM agenda in advance and also welcome nominations from the floor during the meeting.
Please get in touch by April 20, if possible.
Don’t hesitate to reach back out to IMA if you have any questions about your membership status.
