Although this time around I had not intended to run in the municipal election, encouragement and support from my family and friends enabled me to take steps to enter the race for the councillor’s position.
My family and I moved from Vancouver in 1996.
I’ve been a volunteer fire fighter with the City of Quesnel for more than eight years.
Since moving to Quesnel I’ve been involved with both youth and adult soccer, lacrosse and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Quesnel, trying to do my part in the community every chance I get.
Over the years City Hall has been a gong show and I feel it’s time to get involved and help it to get back on track.
There are more important things to worry about than fighting with each other. Elected officials need to focus on the future.
Quesnel is facing challenging times ahead, aging infrastructure, West Side land stability and the push for a Multi-Centre.
Time is running out, we need to act now. The lumber industry is still struggling today and we face the possibility of double dip recession, on top of all this the pine beetle epidemic.
The future looking somewhat grim and worrisome. City needs to look into tightening it’s belt and spend taxpayers’ money as if it was their own.
I’m asking you, your family and friends for support.
On Nov 19 vote for a change – a family man with family values, Paul Kainth.
