To the Editor,
On behalf of Runaway Moon Theatre, we would like to thank all the brave people who participated in our Walk of the Woods Tree Parade at Canada Day celebrations in LeBourdaise Park.
For those who weren’t there, the sky opened up and blessed us with a torrent of rain, just as we began the procession.
Astonishingly, the rain only lasted as long as the parade. And the band played on! (They were fabulous.)
Special apologies to the small children who ended the parade in tears.
We would also like to especially thank Canada Day organizer Charlene Lawrence, for taking a chance on a couple of artists she’d never met, and Tarin Lefebvre for welcoming us to your wonderful Arts & Recreation Centre.
Thanks also to the very talented local artist, Natasha Lepine, who helped us in the workshop, and the wonderful young artists Emma, Harlow and Brayley who made costumes to represent the cottonwoods and birch. Thanks to their mom and grandmother, Kayla and Loni, for all their support and encouragement.
We had a great time in your town. Thank you all very much.
Truly,
Paula Jardine and Cathy Stubington
PS: If anyone has photos or short clips of the actual parade, we’d love to see them. Send to info@runawaymoon.org
