The Correlieu Players are waving their magic musical wand and, abba-cadabera, the hit show Mamma Mia will appear on their stage.
The ABBA-themed musical has already been the dancing queen of Broadway, the super trouper of the West End, and laid all the love on Hollywood when the hit movie version came out. Now it comes to the Chuck Mobley Theatre on Friday and Saturday (March 10-11), featuring an all local cast of high school talent under the direction of Shawn Smith, Correlieu’s award-winning music teacher.
Tickets are $15 regular, $10 for students and pensioners – which is not a lot of money, money, money – available now at Bo Peep Boutique and the Correlieu Box Office. It’s open seating, so early arrival is recommended to get your preferred spot and avoid disappointment for sell-outs, because the winner takes it all. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and showtime is 7 p.m. both nights. If you go on Friday, chances are you’ll be saying gimme, gimme, gimme another ticket for tomorrow, please, and when it’s all over on Saturday everyone will be saying thank you for the music. Does your mother know that you’re out? Yes. She’ll be there watching and singing along as well.
