5. What are a few fun facts about yourself?
1. I grew up in Quesnel, and I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else. As a youth I fell in love with all the opportunities we have here to get out into nature. Camping, canoeing, fishing I loved it all and still do. I was even the first Boy Scout in Quesnel to earn the Chief Scout Award. Since then, I have been working at Quesnel Plywood for 28 years. Most of that time I have been a First Aid Attendant, and active on the Occupational Health and Safety Committee.
2. The safety of pedestrians throughout the town is something that needs to be addressed further from a variety of sources such as traffic, wildlife, harassment and violent human encounters.
3. As for addressing crime, a CCTV system would act as both a deterrent and system of record. As to homelessness, we need an appropriately located facility that will support the medical, psychological, financial, and emotional needs of anyone in need of a helping hand on the path to a brighter future.
4. Have the local businesses offer a “Member‘s Discount” to all medical professionals. Easing the financial burden slightly. It’s not a huge draw in of itself, but would be part of a larger plan.
5. I like a bit of everything. Sometimes it’s going for a nature walk. Sometimes it’s sitting on the PlayStation. I love to cook but then again who hasn’t turned into a bit of a foodie over the last several years? But mostly, I love to go out to my claim with my wife and dig holes. Looking for those elusive golden nuggets. Our city was based on the search for those things. So if you see me around town with a pan and some dirt, stop by, and I’d be more than happy to show you how to do it yourself. I guarantee you will catch that fever too!
