The Quesnel Observer asked all SD28 candidates the same four questions. They were limited to 300 words.

Donelly Clement declined to participate, while the remaining 12 candidates provided answers to these questions: A. Can you tell us a bit about yourself? B. What prompted you to run for school board? C. What do you feel are some of the challenges/concerns facing School District 28? D. How do you plan to address those challenges? E. What are a few fun facts about yourself?

A. I’m retired, my wife Debbie our two children and three grandchildren all live in Quesnel.

B. In our 44 years of marriage I’ve always been actively involved in the communities where we’ve lived. There was a lack of candidates, I have the time and related experience, so I stepped up.

C. Lack of respect and bullying. Resources for career planning. Individuals who bully often start doing so in elementary school.

D. Resources are needed to correct these activities early on.

E. Community Service: Active on the Cariboo Regional District solid waste management committee, six years as a mayor, six years as a CRD director and 25-plus years as a volunteer fireman. Hobbies are woodworking and classic cars. Enjoying our grandchildren as they pursue their passions of guitar, hockey and gymnastics.
