Residents under an evacuation alert since mid-April in Quesnel can breathe a sigh of relief.

The city officially ended the evacuation alerts for Dragon Hill Road and Panorama Ridge, but evacuation orders for two properties remain in place.

“An Evacuation Order remains in effect for the properties of 1927 Dragon Hill Road and 505 Panorama Ridge,” a city news release reads. To ensure public safety, residents are being asked to stay away from these two properties as they are deemed unsafe.”

The Dragon Hill is the home of the Marshall Vetrinary Hospital. Staff were left scrambling in April to move valuable medications and items out of the building.

“It’s pretty catastrophic really,” office manager Katharine Robinson said in April.

The properties were put under the alert due to the risk of a landslide.
