At least one person was taken to hospital after a motorcycle and SUV collided on the Moffat bridge.

While emergency crews were called to the scene around 10 a.m., and stopped traffic along the bridge in both directions.

Around an hour later, a single lane of traffic was opened up, to alleviate the traffic jam.

The collision took place right as Moffat bridge takes vehicles into West Quesnel. Crews needed to move the SUV before taking away the motorcycle, which was in pieces.

The SUV had a large dent in the front end, as a result of hitting a handrail alongside the bridge.

There is no word on the status of the person taken away by ambulance.
