Annual cleaning and maintenance shutdown underway

The swimming schedule has run dry.

The Quesnel pool is undergoing its annual maintenance blitz, so the swimming facility is closed temporarily. The rest of the Quesnel Arts & Recreation Centre is open, however.

“The annual September pool shutdown allows us to perform a deep cleaning and take care of any maintenance issues,” said a statement from city hall.

The pool doors closed on Sept. 4 and will remain unavailable for public use until the end of day Sept. 17. It re-opens at 6 a.m. on Sept. 18.

The pool-area’s office and gym will remain open throughout the shutdown of the water area. The hours of operation for the office and gym are usually 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. with some exceptions (Sept. 9 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Sept. 10 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.; and office only on Sept. 14 and 15 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. The gym is closed Sept. 14-17).

For the hours of operation for the Quesnel Art Gallery, Quesnel & District Community Arts Council office, meeting rooms for rent, and Arts Centre please consult their individual schedules.

The Quesnel Arts & Recreation Centre is located at 500 North Star Road. The phone number is 250-992-8200.
